The War On Drugs – Old Skin
THE War On Drugs frontman and songwriter Adam Granduciel was quick to snap up Walter Becker’s Melody Maker bass guitar after the Steely Dan legend’s death.
And he used the rare Gibson to demo most of the songs on the outstanding 2021 album I Don’t Live Here Anymore. It’s an emotional yet uplifting collection in its entirety, featuring tracks like Living Proof, Harmonia’s Dream, I Don’t Wanna Wait and the magical Occasional Rain.
Old Skin, which opens many of the band’s live performances, gets the vote.
