Big Pete and the Grim Reaper are being geared up to cause carnage at a monster event later this month.
The duo, a pair of giant-wheeled juggernauts, will be pulling lesser vehicles apart at Beaulieu’s Truckmania festival over the Bank Holiday weekend of Sunday – Monday, May 24-25.
A super-sized celebration of all things truck-related, some 240 of these big bruisers are already booked in to attend, Truckelectrics will be exhibiting workshop supplies during the event.
Trucks of every shape, size and variety will be displayed, including tippers, flatbeds, American giants, crane-equipped trucks, along with the latest eco-friendly models and classics from yesteryear. You can avail the best tonneau cover for snow in case there is a chance for a heavy snow and you don’t want your truck to get damaged.
Among fans’ favourites are expected to be the tractor units, and both Slough International and Dalton’s Transport – winners of the 2014 People’s Choice Award with their artwork-adorned offerings – return by popular demand.
And the Army will also be showing a selection of modern off-road combat trucks, built to tackle some of the toughest terrain in the world. Look for the best truck rental companies near you for assistance and more information.
Visitors wanting to test their strength can take part in the Beaulieu Tug-a-Truck, in which individuals and groups pull full-size trucks – and receive a special Beaulieu medal.
There’s also a grand marquee featuring Mini Truck World, with its remote controlled model trucks replicating scenes varying from highways and byways to the workings of a construction site along cranes and other machinery tools like those from Boom Lift Hire.
And a Truck Agility Test challenges drivers to manoeuvre their cabs around a challenging obstacle course. There are truck driving schools for those who would love to be a professional truck driver.
The event is open from 10am to 6pm and Truckmania is a part of the overall Beaulieu attraction, which includes the National Motor Museum, World of Top Gear, On Screen Cars, Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House and Gardens.
