Ford is giving its small car line-up an early summer revamp with new colours, interior tweaks and extra technology.
Leading the way are new versions of the brand’s Ka city car, the Zetec Black and Zetec White editions offering a personalised design with black or white bodywork and white interior detailing.
Both colour schemes are designed to create a classic look to reflect trends in clothing and technology.
They are available with Midnight Black or Crystal White bodywork. An optional body colour roof spoiler is offered, while black 16-inch five-spoke alloy wheels are standard and there’s also the optional offer of a body colour roof spoiler.
A contrasting interior design for the Ka editions is dominated by a unique seat trim in black with white detailing and seam stitching.
The leather steering wheel and handbrake also feature white stitching along with the gearshift gaiter and double-stitched floor mats while the gearshift knob, steering wheel spokes, centre console, door grab handles and air-vent surrounds are finished in Pearl White.
Ka Black and White Editions are offered equipped with Ford’s 1.2-litre Duratec petrol engine, achieving 57.6mpg fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions of 115g/km.
Ford’s vehicle personalistion chief John Mcleod said: “Black and white is a timeless combination that evokes thoughts of chic 1960s style, and now inspires the design of products from consumer electronics to training shoes.
“We’ve used that simple combination to deliver a distinctive Ka interior with a charismatic twist.”
Ka Titanium models also receive kit upgrades to create the most luxurious Ka to date with standard features including leather trim with heated front seats, panoramic roof, rear parking sensors, side and curtain airbags, new 16-inch alloy wheels and black painted grille.
A new body colour called Grey Matter is also available.
Ford is also extending its 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine in 140PS guise to the Fiesta Zetec S range and will include the 17-inch wheel design from the Fiesta Red and Black editions.
And all Fiesta models from Style upwards now receive front LED daytime running lights as standard while DAB radio becomes a free-of-charge option on Zetec S.
Two new exterior colours for Fiesta are Magnetic, which a sparkling metallic grey, and Candy Red, a tinted clear-coated red.
Fiesta models can now be equipped with powertrains including the award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, 1.25-litre Duratec petrol or the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine which delivers 88.3mpg fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions of 82g/km.
The Ford B-MAX multi activity vehicle is also now equipped with new low emission diesel engines with Automatic Start/Stop technology that sees emissions fall by up to 10 per cent and B-MAX achieving sub-100g/km.
