C-Class Coupe’s a lean machine
It’s mean and lean – and the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is now up for grabs from £30,955 ahead of hitting UK streets in December.
In two model lines and featuring four engine options, the newcomer builds on the spec of its popular saloon and estate stablemates.
The line-up kicks off with the 184bhp C 200 petrol engine, available with a six-speed manual or 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic gearbox.
CO2 emissions are 123g/km for manual and an extra 2g/km for the auto.
In the case of the new C 300 engine, this unit produces 245bhp and comes only with the 7G-Tronic gearbox – and CO2 from 146 g/km.
Two diesel engines comprise a 170bhp C 220d, with a six-speed manual (106 g/km) or 9G-Tronic nine-speed auto transmission, and the C 250d, which produces 204bhp and comes with a 9G-Tronic gearbox (109 g/km).
Standard kit in the two trim grades – Sport and AMG Line – includes stuff like LED head and tail-lights, Active Park Assist, reversing camera, sports seats with Artico upholstery including heated front seats, 7-inch colour screen, sat-nav, electrically folding mirrors and Collision Prevention Assist Plus automatic braking system.
The C 300 model also features as standard a sports exhaust system with switchable sound.
Buyers opting for Sport trim get a gloss black interior with aluminium inlays in the doors, 17-inch alloy wheels and a diamond grille with black-painted pins.
The AMG Line includes black ash wood trim, an AMG flat-bottomed sports steering wheel, brushed steel sports pedals and a black roof lining.
That’s in addition to an AMG bodystyling kit, 18-inch five-spoke alloys, a diamond grille with chrome pins and 15mm lowered sports suspension.
Topping the range is the £61,160 Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe with a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine and AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed auto gearbox.
Producing a hefty 476bhp of wallop, the C 63 can scorch from standstill to 62mph in a fleeting 4.0 seconds.
The £66,910 Mercedes-AMG C 63 S ups the ante even further, producing 510bhp and capable of 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds.
From launch, a limited-edition C63 S Edition 1 is also on sale with unique details like diamond nappa leather with yellow stitching, graphite AMG decals, an AMG aerodynamic package and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels – for a princely £76,900.
